# Inside the 48-hour podcast pipeline

**TL;DR.** The 48-hour turnaround is structural, not heroic. Six stages: ingest (h0–2), audio (h2–8), video (h8–24), captions + clips (h24–36), QC (h36–42), revisions + delivery (h42–48). Audio goes first because video conforms to audio. Two editors per project — a lead and an assistant — work overnight in parallel.

## Key Q&A

### How do you edit a podcast in 48 hours?

Sequencing audio before video, using two editors (lead + assistant) working in parallel, and committing to 4-hour revision cycles. The speed is structural, not heroic.

### Why does audio come before video in podcast editing?

Video conforms to audio. If audio mix changes pacing (removing dead air, tightening sentences), video cuts must match. Locking audio first prevents rework.

### How many editors work on each podcast?

Two: a lead editor (handles long-form cut + audio mix + creative calls) and an assistant editor (handles captions, clip cutdowns, thumbnails, ingest/export). They work in parallel.
